Chile

Chile is a country in South America the capital is called Santiago. It has 19.6 million inhabitants and it's area is over 750 thousand kilometers squared. The national language is Spanish because of the Spanish conquers that took over. Chile claimed their independence back in 1818.

Cueca

The national dance of Chile is Cueca. The dance has roots from Spain, Europe. The most popular version of the dance arose in Peru and is related to the dance Zamacueca. Then the dance spread to Chile and Bolivia. The dance grew in popularity so the Peruvian version got a nickname of "la chilena" 

Gabriela Mistral 

Is the first Latin American author to win a Nobel prize for her work. Her real name was Lucila Godoy Alcayaga. During her life she made 13 pieces of work. Her work is characteristic, because it has a grey and sad mood that describes her difficult childhood.
